From what I am seeing in comments and elsewhere on the forums, it appears that the system is counting overkill to the 5,000 friendly damage limit in FW. i.e if you kill someone with a remote, and the remote does 2000 damage to a player with 500hp...

Known issue from 1.5 - Wasn't fixed in 1.6. All of this is soooo stupid. Mouse was working fine earlier, but then they went away from raw input and over to a controller emulator. Lowered mouse performance accordingly... which was fine at the time...

It is not Invisible mail... it is mail sent out by EVE players as "corp" mail... but there is currently no interface in DUST to view corp mail. So, your inbox shows a letter, but you can't check it. Fun, no?

Every now and then, something will make a noise in DUST.... in this case, usually a weapon sound. A LAV will drive by with the blasters firing, or a heavy will be shooting the HMG. Then that LAV or Heavy gets killed... but the sound continues. ...

I know that skills don't seem to be applied if you simply "show info" on the item in question, which kinda sucks. However, try and fit the plate, then look at your PG meter and see what the change is. This should, in theory, reflect the PG saving...
